Temet Nosce

Temet Nosce—Latin for “know thyself”—is the title of my latest personal project, a self-portrait study I’ve been developing over the past three months

Responsible for all aspect and concept.

This project delves into the inherent duality within us all—a force that is as painful as it is vital.
We are, in many ways, shaped by this tension, unable to function without its push and pull.
Alongside this exploration, I’ve also sought to examine the act of creation itself: the human urge to impose order on chaos, to transform the inert into something that feels alive.

It is, in essence, an echo of the Golem folklore of Prague—stories where lifeless clay is brought to life. Similarly, as artists, we breathe life into blank pages and canvases, forging existence where there was none.

In crafting this project, I’ve stayed true to my principles:
no AI-generated content is used in my work.
Every detail was sculpted digitally from scratch, relying on tools I hold dear.
The foundation was built in ZBrush, with UV maps meticulously crafted in Maya. Textures were brought to life through Mari’s nodal workflow, a process I especially value for characters.
The diffuse, specular, roughness, and displacement textures were all created without relying on preexisting assets.
Displacements combine my personal sculpting with select 3D ScanStore data for added nuance.

SHOT 1001

This is the central piece of the project, where I aimed to create a composition using triangles to represent the antagonistic nature within each of us.

This is an alternative perspective of the project, where the focus shifts to the other character.

This is the final shot of the series, offering a powerful view of the dynamic between the two sides of the same coin.
